CIEH COURSES

The CIEH (Chartered Institute of Environmental Health) aims to promote improvements in environmental and public health policy, providing information, evidence and policy advice to local and national government, and environmental and public health practitioners in the public and private sectors.

To help its aims, the CIEH provides a range of safety related qualifications and training courses that meet the demand for various skill levels within organisations. CIEH courses are described in levels:

• Introductory - aimed at those new to the workplace or role, requiring basic training

• Foundation - aimed at those who are actively involved in the course subject area

• Intermediate - aimed at those requiring the knowledge and have a management and/or training role

The CIEH Introductory Certificate in Food Safety provides a basic introduction to food safety, making it excellent low-level induction training for those working in the catering industry. This course provides an awareness of key food safety issues and an excellent overview of food hygiene and is particularly suitable for:

• New employees with minimal or no food safety knowledge

• Employees handling low risk or wrapped foods

• Front of house employees, such as waiting or check-out staff

• Back of house employees, such as kitchen porters or warehouse staff
